Actually the march in which Rev. King participated was more or less in the middle of the strike, on March 28. It's interesting that you describe it as a "glorious day," since the march devolved into violence, with window breaking, riot police, tear gas, 280 arrests, and a 16 year old boy shot to death by police. Rev. King was hustled away from the scene. The disaster of that march led to King's decision to cancel his planned trip to Africa and return to Memphis on April 3, when he gave the "Mountaintop" speech. The next day he was assassinated.
as to the rest, there are COSTS to every human activity, which cannot be predicted. IF all we did was worry about that sort of thing, there would be NO PROGRESS at all.
