There is a thread, coordinated by freeper "patriciaruth". (Sorry I'm not techie enough to find/post the link but search via her name; title of thread is (surprise!)"care packages".) She and her "merry band" have been focusing currently on the Stryker Brigade units who were extended 8 days before they were due to head home. Anyone who wants to join the "merry band" should freepmail her. Anyone who has questions about the logistics of sending care packages -- who, where, how, when--feel free to freepmail me.
If you have questions about WHY to send packages, you should be ashamed of yourself!

For those of you who belong to a veteran's service organization, i.e. VFW, American Legion, if you haven't already adopted a unit, now would be a good time. My Ladies Aux of my VFW Post did this when the troops first headed out. If you are not a member of one of these organizations, contact them and find out if you qualify. They would be glad to have the new member and they provide many wonderful services for our veterans and active duty. You will find that there are lots of ways to serve and honor our troops. Be safe Tinman.

Information on how to send care packages is posted at posts 31, 32, and 49.
