"Luis Ernesto Derbez told reporters in Paris, his first stop on a European tour, that a legal investigation was under way to determine whether Mexico has a case. "
A case for what?

Well it's not like the UN does anything anyways.
To: Ben Mugged
Wow. Does or has the UN taken on issues like this,(with any country)? What does the UN have to do with the fence?

If they determine it's "illegal" let them enforce it.

So, what is the basis for their claim? This can't possibly be real. They have no case!

Mexico is afraid of the "clogged toilet" effect in their turd world republic - if their uneducated, illiterate and unemployable peasants can't come to America...

Coming Civil War II thesis.
The UN will declare the fence illegal. President Klinton or InSane will side with the international community.
Sides will immediately be defined and Conservatives and Constitutionalists will be forced to go door to door and EXTRACT all governing liberal elites.

If they take their complaint to the UN, the fence is safe.

a legal investigation was under way to determine whether Mexico has a case. A case for what, imposing its policies on a sovereign nation? In the old days, even attempting to do so was grounds for war. And they're going to ask the UN to approve it?

They will likely make a claim under the UN doctrine of "Right of Return." More or less they will get the other turd world countries to decide that Mexicans are indigenous to the Western USA and so should have free passage across the border.
(Another reason that the UN is a bad idea and placing US sovereignty under it is appallingly bad.)

dispute over U.S. plans to build a fence on the Mexican borderSo is there a neighbor hood covenant we missed? It's our border, being violated by Mexican citizens. Deal with it!
P.S. Please don't bother the UN, they're busy writing a sternly worded letter to the PRK.
