That's the same as not answering God's call. God doesn't say "Hey do this whenever you feel like it." He gives us a call for a time and place to do specific things that fit with His plan. We can either be part of His plan, or we can be disobedient.

I too believe it is irresponsible parenting.

Those who put their own will ahead of God's wouldn't have any issue with what you've said. Even I can understand your point. But God doesn't do things our way on our time table. We either serve Him or we serve ourselves. These parents chose to serve Him. I would never fault them for that.

Besides, you are blaming the victim instead of the perpetrator. Would you blame a woman who was raped for walking by herself at night?
