If Japan and SK decide to rely on the US nuke deterrent instead of getting their own, that might turn a little light on in Beijing. Afterall, Beijing's policy has been to try to push the US out of the region.

I have a different view. A nuclear Japan would cause a tremor through China. While they would like America out of the region, to have two nuclear powers in the region opposed to them would be a serious problem from China's point of view.
