I got the clear impression you were on the cutting edge of truth in this matter and I was featuring you as such a one by including you in my post on the reason why Bush could never have promised such a thing. Network news still manages to pull in something like 20 million viewers each evening.

Put all the cable news channels together in the evening, and you get something less than 4 million.

Network news viewership is down a bit over the past few years, but the missing viewers aren't necessarily watching Fox News.

Fox News in the evening has more viewers than the other cable networks, but it's still just around 2 million, and that's for the whole evening, from 6PM to 12PM.

Network news is not out, by a long shot, despite the wishful thinking of many folks. It's still on in lots and lots of households every evening.

Thanks. I figured before he gave it that it was a statement not a full-blown speech. It wasn't from the Oval Office and it was pretty short.

I also figured he would be savaged by quite a few FReepers for not laying out a NEW, more
Americanized, much more threatening and aggressive stance. Many people have given up, and they have bought the DBM's spin that Bush caused NK to get a nuke. Pathetic.

The real truth is, NK announced they had nukes at the same time they admitted cheating on the agreement with Clinton. They already have them. What a terrible hand this President was dealt. I for one will not join in the mind-numbed bashfest.

I do hope his administration has a plan beyond what we have seen. I have to believe they do.

If the Dems take over, whatever they would do would be the absolute ultimate in dangerous appeasment. They would do the same with Iran, al-Qaida, etc.

You know I know you're not a Bush basher, mystery. I included you in my post as one I admire who is on this thread and on the right side. My apoligies for the confusion. One of the ones I posted to was a Bush-basher on this issue and had the facts wrong.

Yes - neither China nor South Korea want to see nukes spread around (especially China - if they ever go up against any Arab/Islamic countries, which wouldn't surprise me, the one thing they would have to fear would be nukes), and we should have them covered by sea with very little resources. People wanting military action will cool off after a few days and realize theat even if we could engage in significant action, it's not necessary as this point.

What worries me is the bleeding hearts that will inevitably claim that cutting aid to NK is going to cause people to starve. Give it a few days, and they will come out in droves.

I had seen a post of yours where you saw some tv blabbermouth blaming Bush for this and you said there was no mention of Clinton. Which obviously angered you (me too).

My rant was right on target to that topic and so I thought to add your name. My real target was someone else. But don't feel bad, I posted it to rhombus also, for a similar reason I did to you, and that was cause for confusion, too.
