Kim Il Jong, thanks to Jimmy Carter and President Clinton, now has the nuclear bomb. Its time to cancel diplomacy and UN diplomacy. Now we need to stand up to evil. President Bush has to get tough with the North Korean Commies. Our national security and the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Stop appeasement. Communism killed over a hundred million in the past century and may kill millions more, either in a first nuclear strike on America or by handing over nuclear bombs to Islamofascists. This is it.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

I agree, but I would have already told the Military to prepare for nuclear strikes on north korea within the week.

President Bush should announce that any missile launches from North Korea whether labeled "tests" or not will be viewed as nuclear first strike attempts against the U.S. and our allies. They will be met with appropriate acts of retaliation, up to and including targeted nuclear strikes. President Bush should announce that any such efforts to launch missiles from North Korea will be monitored by satellite. When missiles are readied for launch, the missile sites will be destroyed pre-emptively.I was thinking along these same lines. Something like the JFK Cuban Missile Crisis admonition: "...an attack on any part of the Western Hemisphere will be regarded as an attack on the United States..." (or however Ted Sorenson phrased it). Just one problem: making sure that we've got nukes of the appropriate (low) yield to make the threat credible (too large a nuke may pose a fallout threat to China, Russia, Japan and, eventually, the US). It's no coincidence that the NKs are testing way up North, close to Russia and China.

Stalin's Russia was like Sandals Resort and Spa compared to Kim Jong Il's North Korea.

If we do not intend to get tough then we should open full fledged relations with these clowns and flood them with the evils of the West

Kim supposedly has the largest collection of porn in the world and is a huge Alec Baldwin fan.

I certainly would not go to the UN. If the rules of engagement
for a Korea conflict are the same as I fought under in A-Stan, then no I would not wish to engage in combat in Korea. PC R.O.E have hampered combat forces in the GWOT, if you have been there, then you know.

Can someone confirm for me what I heard on CNN....that NK, in fact, test fired 7 missiles, one that could have reached Alaska.

"President Bush should announce that any more nuclear tests by North Korea will be viewed as preparations for war against the U.S., Japan, South Korea and other allies and dealt with "harshly" and immediately....."
I can't see Bush taking any military action against NK, at least NOT the U.S. alone. When it comes to doing anything that might be considered 'pre-emptive', he won't take the chance of further criticism. But we'll see.
