Just got back from movie ("The Departed" three stars, with Jack Nicholson who is superb.)
Movie preview trailer was promoting a new "documentary" about the poor Ditsy Chicks and how all us Conservatives are so dumb and they are so smart and their careers are now in the dumper because they dared criticize Pres Bush.... yada yada yada....
The featured Conservative group in the ad was FR, with a poster featuring "FreeRepublic.Com" being held aloft by someone. Don't know which FReeper it was, but time will tell.
Think I'll go to movie to see who it is, then "stomp" out and demand my money back because the theater is showing an anti-American movie!

Well, I'm sure they got Registered's permission first. Heck, they probably even paid him to use it. They wouldn't steal someone's creative work, would they?

They caught quite a bit of flack here, but he overwhelming response from Patriotic Americans all over the country was amazing.

The problem was how the whole anti-Chicks campaign was orchestrated by a select few through a right-wing Internet site called the Free Republic.
“This wasn’t about us being women as much as it was about country music,” says Maines. “In our industry, they always blow off the liberal, Hollywood, pot-smoking celebrity. For the (people who read the Free Republic), we were their wet dream.”
According to the research done by Kopple and the Chicks themselves, the Free Republic sent out form letters to their 30,000-thick subscription list with market-specific information, saying if the station did not stop playing their music, they would cease listening to the station.
I'm outta the loop... what is this movie all about... pro-Chix, anti-Bush? "fair and balanced"? pro-Bush? Is this film opening all over the country, or going directly to DVD?
I'm going to watch the trailer again...

The documentary shows the band from their peak of popularity as the national-anthem-singing darlings of country music and top-selling female recording artists of all time, through the now infamous anti-Bush comment, and on through the days, months and years of mayhem. The film also follows the lives and careers of the musicians through the writing and recording of their first album since "the incident"--and three years of political attack, making music, birthing babies, bonding, death threats, and laughter.
Sure sounds to me like it's a pro-Ditsy Chix, anti-war, anti-Bush Michael Moore-like film...
The Chix had it made, to try and spin their downfall to blame it on the VRWC.

Most people with BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) also suffer from FRDS, and MMWS (Michael Moore Worship Syndrome).

Those two girls in the trailer who wanted to hear the Ditsy Chicks on the radio, of course, but other than those two...
Yeah, I was thinking that they were pure as the driven snow myself.
