I'm to the point of believing the Democrats and media have an abject fear of irrelevancy and demise. In their minds, if they continue to lose it would be years until they can regain power. They don't want to wait, preferring to help push things along. More of their ends justifying the means mentality.

Hello,

Last night, I (finally) asked my MIL about the Foley issue and if she would either stay home or change her vote. She laughed and said if the fact that there was a gay man in the GOP was enough for her to not vote or vote Dem, she would be a fool.

(I waited to ask because the initial reporting of this was horrid (facts be damned) and I hoped to get her impressions now, after some time. Her attitude (from a 74 year old conservative Christian) proves that the Dems/DBM pitched this too soon, it will blow up in their faces, it IS blowing up in their faces.)

Glad to be here, MOgirl

I'm convinced, and I increasingly think that the Dhimmicrats and DBM see this (either consciously or unconsciously),  that this is their last shot.  If they don't win back power now they're done.  The Democrat coalition will break up and we'll see at least three parties emerge from the wreckage, plus a contingent that will shift to the Republicans.  The DBM will crash and burn in short order, with their news operations likely closing shop within 2 years, to be replaced by either reruns of Gilligans Island or a revival of "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire."  I know that's pretty extreme, but I have that feeling that this is the abyss that they are looking into.  And the abyss is looking back... and it looks like Regis Philbin or Bob Denver.
