Pay me! The pipe dream got arrested at 4 a.m. after bloody clashes, where the regime authorities fired live rounds at the demonstrators. One of the KRSI people on the ground Kianoush Sanjari was also arrested.
Come on, get real. Several hours of direct, live phone - on air - contact with people on the ground in Tehran located close to the Ayatollah's house broadcast live is far too complex to "invent".
I write screenplays but this would be beyond my creativity.
The MSM, Fox News and Drudge etc. held back to see what would happen - as did many people in Iranian cities, like Isfahan.
MSM reluctant to give the Administration an October surprise boost so close to elections. And not sure of what is actually going on.
Incidentally, some pretty serious blogs used the story and Radio Free Europe also confirmed the events. It's all over, just not in the MSM. Now that the Ayatollah was arrested, there will be little follow on.
As some of you have said, some people like Alan Peters at http://www.antimullah.com receive first hand information long before it reaches the wire services, let alone the MSM. The site has broken stories in the past. It has had over 3,000 individual visits yesterday afternoon and over 3,000 this morning, so the story had legs. As it should have.
This is the closest we have come to having some kind of uprising against the Mullahs by someone who might have carried it off - by being a cleric (of different philosophy). His father was against Khomeini and he is against what he terms a "false religion" put into place by Khomeini and still being used in Iran.
As some noted, his slogan of "no political religion, no religion governing us" (roughly translated) appears to favor the "secular" Ahmadi-Nejad, who, however, is fanaticaly a Hojatieh believer and thus marches to the drums of the crazy Hojatieh Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi. Therefore, not what Ayatollah Boroujerdi had in mind.
