I believe the point of "the list" is that these are public figures who are in the "closet" rather than from any one party. The point Rogers is making (and it is logical, even if some of us don't approve) is that if we expect honesty from our public figures, and we have no hesitation asking about their marital status, they should be honest enough to give their sexual orientation... which says nothing about their fitness to do their job.
I noticed a few Democrats on that list... none of which surprised me. There's a few names I'd add, but it's not my list, and I don't speculate about other people's private lives anyway.
