Great video, and I always loved that song. Trivia: do you know where the name "Dwight Frye" came from?

As for Natalie, I work in radio and I've been a member of FR since 1998 and had no idea there were organized FR meetings to discuss which musicians we were going to get banned from the radio next (I vote for Ashlee Simpson!) I've enjoyed reading the reaction to Natalie's idiocy on FR, but personally, I crossed them off my list the minute I read the news reports of their attacks on the commander-in-chief on foreign soil as our troops were about to go into battle, which used to be called "giving aid and comfort to the enemy," or as my late father would've put it, "treason." And they've just compounded the stupidity ever since with their endless, whining victim routine.

How did they think their patriotic Southern and Middle-American fans were going to react to them (to cite just a few instances beyond the Bush-bashing) appearing nude on Entertainment Weekly's cover with self-pitying slogans written on their naked bodies; giving interviews in London in which Natalie sneered that she doesn't understand why anybody cares about patriotism; and declaring that their own fans are scary, redneck morons and they wouldn't want to be listened to by anyone who'd put them in a CD changer with Toby Keith and Reba McEntire? And according to a review I read, the fawning new documentary about them actually shows Natalie (to the trepidation of her bandmates) stupidly refusing to let their label ship the new CD to country stations that were actually willing to play it because she was mad at country radio and far above those horrid people; and refusing to play smaller venues for a guaranteed fee, instead insisting on big arenas they could no longer sell out, a boneheaded move that cost the group millions. No, Nat, if you want to see the source of all your problems, as painful as it might be, try looking into a mirror.

BTW, a friend of mine who is a very prominent Texas musician has worked with Nat's dad, one of the top pedal steel players around. He tells me Natalie was always a spoiled brat with no respect for anyone else, and he can't see that anything's changed since she was a teenager.

Supporting player in Dracula, Frankenstein, and other Universal horror pictures.

"Nat's dad, one of the top pedal steel players around..."

Yup, the apple fell very, VERY far from the tree in Lloyd's case.

The Chicks appear, annoyingly, on the Sesame Street Video, "All Star Alphabet" (they do the letter "B"). And I've seen enough music, and played enough myself, to understand the dynamics of playing together; there's a dynamic among the people that is palpable, although hard to explain. It's totally missing with the Chicks, at least on that video. Although the music was technically well executed and sounded good, I got the sense that the other two chicks do NOT like Natalie AT ALL.

I predict a band breakup. The other 2 will dump Natalie someday.
