Some conservatives link child sex abuse to sexual orientation -
Some conservatives have reacted to former Rep. Mark Foley's sexual messages to teenage boys and announcement he is gay by suggesting that homosexuals are more likely to molest children, a link that psychiatric groups say has no basis in fact.
Yet the stereotype seems to be sticking, repeated in the conservative and mainstream media. A columnist for the Wall Street Journal suggested that homosexuality exists on a continuum stretching from "just another gay guy" to "a compulsive, predatory sex offender."
Jay Leno recently quipped that GOP now stands for "Gay Old Pedophile," and Ben Stein wrote in the American Spectator that "I hope it won't come as a surprise to anyone that a big part of male homosexual behavior is interest in young boys. (Take a look at anyone renting 'Endless Summer' next time you are at the video store.)"
But researches say that the data cited to back up such stereotypes is flimsy, exaggerated and sometimes made up.
"That fact that an adult has a pedophile diagnosis or pedophile tendencies tells you nothing about their adult relationships. It tells you about what kind of children they are attracted to," said Jack Drescher, chair of the American Psychiatry Association's committee on gay, lesbian and bisexual issues.
In Foley's case, the clinical definition of pedophilia -- an attraction to prepubescent children -- does not apply; the congressional pages receiving his advances were 16 and 17 years old.
Yet Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council wrote in an e-mail to supporters that "neither party seems likely to address the real issue, which is the link between homosexuality and child sex abuse." Perkins went on to assert that 86 percent...

If the shoe fits, they need to wear it. My family member was a homosexual. He is dead now. In his life he sexually abused two young boys, and had a string of offenses at the local police. Of course in 1962 this was all treated differently. All of the homosexuals I have known have told me that they were abused as children, and they sought to abuse children themselves.
I have known quite a number of homosexuals, and not one of them isn't an abuse case - either it's sexual abuse, or an abusive/absent father combined with a suffocating, controlling mother.
They are broken people. Being sick is not inherently evil, but insisting upon having their sickness accepted as healthy, is.
The term "chicken hawk" originates from gay men preying on beautiful, adolescent boys. Anyone seen or read "Death in Venice" lately??
Ones concerned about truth are doing that. Pedophilia has always been a part of male homosexual culture whereever it is allowed to flourish.
There is at least a smidgen of truth in all of those upsetting stereotypes. Otherwise, they would not be upsetting.
In the case of gays molesting young boys, the amount of truth in that stereotype is much more than just a mere 'smidgen'.

Diagnosis? I think the word is conviction. Are we now going to have to accept pedophilia as a sickness and therefore excuse their behavior?
Did you know orphans who had no mother or father present have grown up to be heterosexual while those with a controlling father and weak mother have grown up homosexual.
Someday we'll figure it out and give them a shot or something to set 'em straight.

OK, I'm still confused. This "DNA methylation" is more likely to occur in the youngest sibling, or are those two factors unrelated?
