Implies the rejection of 6-party talks, Counsel Kim Myong-gil to take over his job

| Han Sung-ryol, N. Korea's Deputy Ambassador to UN |
N. Korea won't send the successor to Han Sung-ryol, its Deputy UN Ambassador to UN, who served as a liaison to U.S. government, according to Oct. 7 report of Manichi Shimbun of Japan, quoting sources on N. Korea-U.S. relations.
It said that Kim Myong-gil, who is known as Han's successor and used to be senior research staff at Arms Control and Peace Institute (under N. Korean Foreign Ministry,) is apparently appointed as a Counsel.
It also reported that N. Korean authorities appear to have instructed diplomats to avoid contact with U.S. government, prompting concern that the (diplomatic) channel between N. Korea and U.S. no longer functions, while situations are turning critical after N. Korea's announcement of coming nuclear test.
The sources on N. Korea-U.S. relations explained, "This means that N. Korea would cut off any contacts with U.S. under current circumstance, and refuse to return to 6-party talks.
Deputy Ambassador Han served as a liaison to U.S. and an aide to Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Kye-kwan, who is the N. Korea's top representative at 6-party talks

For once, N. Korea would want to go mano-a-mano, which is fine with me. They have no other choice any way. Giving up nukes and opening of their country are out of the question as long as Kim Jong-il regime is in power. Only getting tributes via nuclear blackmail is their way to survival.
Ping!
Since we don't have diplomatic relations with NK this is the equivalent of recalling their ambassador.
I agree.
