Jesus told Naman to dip 7 times in river, he spit in the dirt and healed a blind man, he brought the dead back to life, a lady was healed by touching his clothing...he tells us that by the power of the holy spirit we can do the same things that he did.

However, most of the religious intellecutal elite want to put God into a box and control the way in which the spirit moves. They are politically correct Christians...they don't want to make anyone uncomfortable.

Give me a service where some may seem a little nutty, and some very well may be...over a human intellectually controlled service in which the spirit of God had no room to move any day.

Fair enough, have no problem with that at all, actually sounds wonderful... Just didn't like the one service I went to that was all show and no intellectual service. It was more for show it seemed than teaching. I am afraid that some take advantage of this and interfere with giving out of God's bread to the flock.

Why does it have to be either or?

I've been to Pentecostal Churches where the Spirit of God did move, but the emotional aspect of their comprehension often resulted in a rather shallow less a less stable faith, and people did come and go more so than in more traditional churches.

I've also been to Baptist Churches that are known more for their Biblical teachings and have found people more stable in the faith because they are founded on the Word of God more so than than Pentecostal tend to be.

The Spirit of God lives in His Word and moves more through sound teaching of the scripture than emotional displays. But I still love the Pentecostal Church.

Amen. I love it when God moves. Sometimes it's in silence and the whole church quiets down for what seems like forever and sometimes you can just feel His presence in music, worship, prayer. If God's not there, it's not worth going to church, IMHO. Too many churches push Him out.
