I think Catholics on the whole because of our structure got what was best out of this movement.
However I think Evanglicals and Protestants are now just waking up to the danger this movement is to the faith. The problem is that many Pentecostls cannot be even classified as Christians because of their views on the Trinity. When that gets blurry Doctine starts to go to hell in a hand basket
That applies to only a small fraction of Pentecostals/Charismatics. 99% are solidly Trinitarian.
I think that the JESUS ONLY folks hostile to the Trinity--as so many groups have--broke off out of political, psychological dynamics and blamed it on theology.
Thankfully, as horrible as the heresy is, it's not, evidently, the uppermost priority from God's perspective. Not sure why. Seems pretty crucial to me. But He seems quite given to using folks on both sides of the issue.
Who am I to quibble with Him and His ways whether I understand them or not; whether they follow my script, or not.
All the Pentecostals I know believe in the Nicene and Athanasian creeds.
If you're talking about the Jesus Only group, (I think there's some denomination somewhere...) that's quite a stretch to associate them with the millions of others. Just yesterday, I was talking to a catholic who, in effect, denied the divinity of Jesus. Maybe if the priest taught the Bible in his church, he wouldn't have that opinion.
