Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Harold Ford Jr. referred to himself as a lawyer earlier this week, but the congressman has not passed the bar exam.

Michael Powell, senior adviser to the Ford campaign, said U.S. Rep. Ford took the Tennessee bar exam in February 1997 and failed. He said that was the only time Rep. Ford has taken the test.

Rep. Ford, of Memphis, got his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1996, according to his congressional Web site.

Ed Bryant should have been the nominee. His scholarship of the Constitution would have compared favorably with someone who couldn't even pass the bar.

Hopefully, Corker will soon be known as "One Term Bob."

LOL! The only thing about that race that alarms me is that no one with the last name "corker" could possibly be elected to the senate! It just wont happen lol. If his name were porker he would have done much better.

Pelosi knew this for months. I demand she resign.

Few people know this, but there are folks from a company called PMBR that puts out multi-state bar exam review materials who take various states' bar exams. The reason they take the exams is so they find out the test questions and make their review materials better. The funny thing is they end up passing all these states bar exams where they never study the actual state materials -- just the multistate, which is a one day (6 hour) 200 question multiple choice test. I believe its given in all states. Anyway, they go ahead and BS their way through the rest of the test -- essay and all.

There are probably people that have never set foot in Tennessee other than to take the 2-3 day bar exam who have passed it.

Well this is bad news.......Ford is NOW a shoe-in to be elected. IN EVERY CASE when a Democrat is shown to have LIED, innocuously or seriously, and there is an election on the horizon, it is a lock the Democrat will win!!

It is a PRE-REQUISITE, along with pedophilia, and several felonies such as Obstruction of Justice, lying to a Federal Agent and taking bribes!!!

The only good thing is that Ford is not be a radical leftist "ONLY" a LIBERAL!!

Has Ford ever been in the can? Maybe he was a "jailhouse lawyer" and the interest of smart politics decided to leave off the jailhouse part. I understand he has family with legal issues.

I found the multi state rather tough going, back before rocks cooled, in 1977. I may have passed it, by not by much. The essays were a mixed bag too for me. I aced some questions, and had trouble with others. I decided to go soft on community property law, trust law, and civil procedure, and you could drop one question in each session for the essays, and all three topics came up in the first session. Oh the horror!

Why would anyone even admit to being a lawyer? Especially if he isn't!
