I played against Mike Thomas, Rookie of the year for the NFL 1976, when he played for Greenville. Played against three state champions from Texas (Brownwood, Wichita Falls, and Iowa Park) and two really good teams from Oklahoma (Lawton and Altus) the same year. We still had one of the Harris Ratings top defenses in the state of Texas even though our record was 5-5. Love Texas Football......

A bar tender here in San Francisco said, down there in Texas you guys think football is a religion - I corrected him told him it was THE religion. Was Troy Aikman on that Lawton team?

I love Texas HS football...and live in Texas...and root for Texas teams except for this weekend....both kids went to OU.....GO SOONERS...
