You're right, but the damage has already been done. The average "headline reader" understood the initial charge: Foley's a hypocritical GOP sexual predator. It's also been trumpeted (true or not) that the GOP leadership was covering for him.
That's the message that will stick with Joe Average - or worse - I would bet if you asked people to explain what happened many would tell you that Mark Foley was molesting little children in his office while Denny Hastert was standing guard outside.
SO regardless of the outcome of the real story, it's "Mission Accomplished" for the Dark Side to some extent.
It's going to backfire on the Rats
The Rats and MSM want this to fade away pretty quickly but I want it to stay out there for a while longer just to show how dumb of an "October Surprise" this whole thing turned out to be.
