The problem with Google is that they collect astonishing amounts of information about you (much more than you think and much more than you would willingly give away). Add to that that they are flaming glibs who can tweak their search algorithms to give you the responses they want you to have without your even knowing about it and you have a recipe for disaster.

I give Google two years tops before they collapse...

Just checked "Clusty" out.

It's great and it even has a toolbar for Firefox, which is exactly what I need.

All things Google from my machines are outa' here as soon as I have some time to mess with it.

LOL...reminds me.....during the building of the Alaska Pipeline, around 1977.....one of our mechanics got paid more than the President of the Company (this was a Caterpillar Dealership). He was getting LOTS of overtime!

We spend probably $100,000+ on google and slightly less on Yahoo every year in marketing. It is money well spent.

If you ran a business that relied predominately on internet leads you might sing a different tune. Google produces the best leads.

Yahoo has always taken care of me. I only used Google for image searches, and when Yahoo put in that feature I found that their service is comparable.

If I remember my search, I was looking for Stronach + Clinton. That indeed came up rather dry. But others on the thread were posing such picts, with the names Stronach and Clinton in the title..... That's what made me wonder about Goooooogle's effectiveness.

Just one (1) observation....Eric Schmidt is a bigger egomanic than Bill Gates.

He is just getting started a little later, that's all.

I cannot avoid MS products, but I can avoid Eric Schmidt products.
