YOU are assuming that other Congressmen knew about these sleazy IMs and that has not been proven. No, I am assuming that other Congressmen knew that Foley was the sort of person who would write such e-mails. Evidently the pages who were involved in the "prank" knew that. Surely the man's colleagues knew it as well.

WELL, why don't you ask them if he ever IMed them with comments like "I am wearing boxers, what are YOU wearing?" I suspect a grown man in Congress would have set him straight right away. I doubt even Mark Foley would be that dumb. He preyed on the young ones, and since none have come foreward to add their two cents I can assume that it didn't happen. Has even ONE page come forward and said I TOLD another Congressman that he did this. No. I think this hoopla is phoney and doesn't quite pass the smell test. Could it be coming? Maybe. I will wait it out.

Evidently the pages who were involved in the "prank" knew that. Surely the man's colleagues knew it as well. Sounds like a big jump from pages to assume colleagues knew. His colleagues probably knew (if they thought about it all) that he was gay, but apparently he had an adult "partner" -- per Howie Carr reading from the New York Daily News, a dermatologist or something.
And except for the former page that received the 2005 emails, I've seen nothing to suggest that any of the pages reported anything to anyone in authority -- just in typical adolescent fashion snickered about it themselves.
