Ah, yes, the poll that turned out to be a Flash poll. Flash polls being basically junk polls as they don't separate demo's, party identification etc....It's just whomever picks up the phone when they call. Could be 380 Dems and 60 Reps and 75 Indy's and they'd run with it.
I was pretty fixated on that earlier today, FOX from what I heard wisely backed off probably after so many of us cried foul at the absurdity of 20 seats lost if Hastert GOES, and 50 if he STAYS.
You know, I actually like Garrett. But at times like these they all want the big scoop and they are all involved in the "drama" and while common sense told all of us that 20-50 was extreme, they are just enveloped in the moment and can't see it. They lose detachment.
I was floored when he reported this and holding my breath because they had just announced the Hastert press conference. For a few minutes I thought he was going to cave and resign. I think Major Garrett must have thought so too and contributed to the drama of the moment.
