CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
I think the big problem is that no one wants to see any lurid chat message sent between people, regardless of age or sexual orientation. It's just gross! Kind of like when you've seen someone naked-- it's hard to get it out of your head!
I think you posted to the wrong person. The italics quote did not come from me.
I am just stepping in and haven't read all of the previous posts yet. But if ABC or other people published the private conversation between two adults without the permission of one of them, wouldn't they be liable for a lot of money in an invasion of privacy lawsuit? Edmund so far has not indicated that he granted permission to anyone to publish these. That may be the explanation for the lawyer.
If it was prank on the former page's part, then why has that former page hired tim mcveigh's defense lawyer, Stephan Jones.
Concur Foley = Pervert. But lets not forget the big picture here. MSM and DEMS attempted to swing and election and supress Conservative vote Turnout by releasing a story about a Gay Pedophile Congresman that the GOP Leadership was aware of and did nothing about. That is the intent to show GOP failures in Congress. If this was a Prank and if the IM's got in the hands of the MSM through the DEM operatives then they should be held to account. Very similar to fake but accurate CBS documents.
I suspect that the chain of custody is going to be very interesting.
I would agree, and add how amazed I am that some freepers have fallen for the MSM spin hook, line, and sinker, and called for Hastert to resign.
The prank statement is still up on Drudge
Oops!! I guess I missed it. I'll recheck & then make an appointement to get some glasses!!! :)
An online story on the Drudge Report Thursday claimed one set of the sexually explicit instant messages obtained by ABC News was part of a "prank" on the part of the former page, who reportedly says he goaded the congressman into writing the messages."This was no prank," said one of the three former pages who talked to ABC News today about his experience with the congressman.
Any news on this????
AMEN!
I live in Oklahoma. Ernest Istook (Republican candidate for Oklahoma governor) just gave a short news conference on Oklahoma City TV. His theme is essentilly that he will neither confirm or deny the identity of his staffer, who has been victimized, and whose privacy needs to be respected. Istook appears to be very nervous about this. DID ANY OTHER OKIE FREEPERS SEE ISTOOK'S PRESSER?
Unless your reading comprehension goes up, perhaps you shouldn't post. I did say, "you can bet your bottom dollar". Foley is hiding now behind he was molested and an alcholic for some reason.
Thanks, there are just too many threads and replies not to have the exact link.
Our search mechanism is not that powerful.
The two I went after have been here for awhile. Whenever, something like this comes up, they immediately want Repubies hung or quartered.
I haven't been watching this that closely, in fact I find it irritating as does everyone.
Who is the one from Louisiana? That is the one I heard on an interview.
I'm not an expert in this field, but doesn't he seem a little underqualified to be running Istook's campaign? I think I saw on his MySpace that he's still in college. Methinks that he might have used the e-mails as leverage with Foley to get this job. As I posted on an earlier thread, I found a story from The Hill that entailed the life of a senior Foley aide whose previous job was with...Istook. That connection - or any other - might have been all this little creep needed to get his dream job.
When I said "this should be breaking news" I was addressing the Free Republic admin. so he/she could assign it to the breaking news section. ;0)
Don't apply....you don't belong in that program, any more than that stinking Edmunds did.
