According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

You might want to read his archives. That list at 20 is only a moment in time (Alito). He's been knocking a few off here and there way before that.
Ailes apparently sent out a message he wanted the ratings to go up (I think Anita posted that as part of her media tidbits on the SUnday Talk Show), and they have decided to do so by just spewing talking points. I'm listening to Hannity and was listening to Schnit earlier. Radio seems to be the place to go now that fox has turned its back on any conservative viewers.
We can probably do a better job of investigating that Freeh can.
There will be a lot people leaking to Drudge like the what he just broke with. Rush and others will get more leaks, and so will some of our blog sites.
That way the rats in congress will not have an opportunity to whitewash the results or spike what is embarassing.
On the other hand, if we are going to ban people for any reason at all we really do need clear cut evidence, signed statements from witnesses, and so forth. There's no reason to toss out all of our ancient traditions and laws just because we think we've found a criminal.
What if Foley was the willing setup guy for the jab/sting. Knowing full well he's got a great lifetime pension and will be the most famous "set and stinger" for years to come.
That'd be such a hoot to expose/flush out all the nuts like they did. Show them for what they are: knee-jerk...jerks.

It may be that they are waiting for Drudge to release the names of his sources so they can confirm...but I'm not holding my breathe.

Nothing wrong with his reading comprehension, what he says is true. I have seen numerous posts suggesting the same thing over and over for a couple of days now. One of the most blantent asked "When do we get Foley back" ... (and no, I don't care to dig it up, it was in one of the kid identity threads last night).
Send emails to Rupert and Ailes that you are not watching Fox anymore because of this bs.
No prank,,I saw the kid, Edmunds, interviewed and he seems awfully light in the loafers.
His parents btw wanted nothing done after the emails. I suspect they and he are embarassed by the issue of his being gay or not.
I am not believing this. Plus Foley should not have been emailing or otherwise getting over friendly with pages. He deserved to go. But Hastert may not.
I've seen very little of that.
Most of the posts I see say, "Good riddance to Foley," but then focus on the more vile conduct of the Democrats and MSM in manipulating the facts to deceitfully pitch this as a predatory Republican pedophile myth instead of what it is: a greasy story about a booze-soaked middle aged gay man enticed to send shameful and embarrassing IMs to a sniggering college frat boy getting his jollies.

Precisely. Because what this is boiling down to really fast is 1) two gay MEN fooling around in IM. Which is a big yawn.
Or 2) a forgery / deliberate deceit, which is highly interesting and which the MSM will avoid as long as possible, until the bloggers embarrass them into grudgingly covering it.
I would be shocked if we don't have at least a dozen people in the House and Senate, right now, who have shown an inappropriate interest in Pages. My gut tells me that it would likely be more Democrats than Republicans.
