It doesn't help Foley, at least as a republican. We wouldn't elect someone who would talk like that to a young boy, even an 18-year-old.
BUT, if there are no other IM messages, what it means is that Foley was NOT a predator trying to woo pages to him -- instead, a PAGE was trying to woo HIM. If the page instigated the lurid exchanges, it means that Foley was NOT a predator, and therefore there was nothing to "protect".
Unless the democrats want to argue that a gay man just can't be trusted.
I'll try this on some of my value voters people, and see what they say.
These are people who in 2000 didn't vote for Bush after they found out about the DUI, and who didn't care about WHo set this up or why it came out now.

There are unfortunately a lot of people in the Republican/conservative camp who are totally buying into this "pedophilia" / "child molester" Democratic propaganda (like Mona Charen's recent column. She sounds just like Nancy Pelosi - very odd.)

The Dems are using our personal and collective feelings about gays to divide us. Whether it's disgust, or just the disdain for the "gay agenda," the Left will use those opinions against us.
However, if I were gay, I don't think I'd be voting for a Democrat now. This has turned out to be a middle-aged gay man flirting with a young man. If Drudge is right, they played Foley for a fool.
If they Dems pursue this, it can be nothing more than harassment of a gay man and intrusion into his privacy.
We should start a Freeper Boycott of Fox News. the Quislings at FOX tried to take down Haesert.

Flash polls. Unbelieveable. Some Rep trying to stab Denny in the back to create momentum to toss him over, and used damn flash polls to do it? FOX should be feeling might embarrassed right now, but I doubt they are.
Flash polls are just whoever picks up the damn phone and responds. No weight by the demo of the district. No weight given to party registration. Nothing.

Yes, I just sent Gibson an email on this. FNC has decided to go mainstream rather than factstream, as is evidenced by their reporting by Gibson, Major, etc. I'm listening to the radio; I am giving up on fox. Their ratings are falling and they think they will go up if they go left, but instead, they are losing their base audience with this tilt to the left. I'm surprised Gibson is joining in on this, but perhaps he is being directed to do so. I'm sick of them.
