I guarantee you all that thirty days from now, the primary subject of concern of the average Election Day voter WILL NOT have ANYTHING to do with ex-Congressman Foley's behavior, or Speaker Hastert's response to it. FOX News may trend conservative, but it is as much a ratings-driven organization as any other network. It's their job to hype the news; it's ours to put things in perspective.
This is bull$shit . Republicans will still vote Republican because they know that the Foley issue leaked out of the DNC septic tank of ideas . I think more Republicans will vote for their candidates because they are sick and tired of the left's underhanded tactics.

it isnt the end of the world if the Dems take congress becasue of a scandal...scandals have no long term lasting effect....the dems cannot build a lasting governing majority based on a scandal.
This is probably the best reason to lose congress if control is to be lost. The voters will vote dem not becasue they want impeachment, higher taxes, cut and run....it wont be a turnover caused by an idealogical struggle...thus ultimatley the DEMs are doomed...this fiasco will only discourge the left from coming up with ideas that could ive them a lasting governing majority

Lest this be a self fulfilling prophecy, realize that the Demonrats have released only one of the poison arrows collected for this purpose from their determined quiver! I don't doubt that at least one more per week will be sent out over the airways. No matter what it takes, money or promises, the opposition is hellbent to win. So what are we going to do about it? We are making it waaaaay to easy for the DEMS. It seems like every few months they are calling for the resignation of another Republican Speaker of the House. WTH? When was the last time the Pubbies demanded that a DEM Speaker resign over a member's misconduct (Can you say Cynthia McKinney, Ted Kennedy, Barney Franks, etc.?) When will it be our turn to say we are outraged and we demand the resignation of their lead officials?

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats. This source, an ally of Edmund, also adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund.
The news come on the heels that former FBI Chief Louis Freeh has been named to investigate the mess.

Fox is only slightly right of center, and scandal is good for ratings. Hannity will stick up for the GOP on his show, but the regular Fox lineup will be there along with the rest of the MSM jackals.
