I can think of no more profound example of Christian love. In stark contrast to the witch on Hannity & Combs last night.
I went to school near that area. The Amish are kind and gentle people. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to hurt them, let alone little amish girls. Makes no sense.
prayers be with them, and may Roberts burn slowly over a white hot flame. (hey... I'm not amish...)

Authorities say Charles Carl Roberts IV had started buying supplies for a long siege six days before he stormed the tiny schoolhouse. He made a checklist of what to bring and wrote out four suicide notes, one talking about how he was "filled with so much hate" and "unimaginable emptiness." It's such a bizarre story.

Through it all
The depths of sin that man can plumb
Were laid upon our God's own Son
We ne'er shall know, by His dear grace
How much He paid to take our case
Destruction's hand may reach our own
Each day on earth is just a loan
Our spirit quails, the horror great
As we stare at hell's wide gate
But through it all God's heaven shines
He'll save us body, soul and mind

Thank you for this thread, joanie. My prayers continue to go out for the families of these innocent children.
I checked out your profile page and blog... you've done magnificent work in putting these sites together, btw. Absolutely outstanding! And thank you for all your efforts in volunteering for Rick Santorum's campaign. How I wish I could vote for him...

*sniff* AGAIN.
That's one of the most touching things I have ever read. Thanks for pinging me to it.
We live in a small close knit community that is so different from city life but nothing compared to what they have. I am so jealous for what they have (in a good way). Such simplicity in live must make it so meaningful.
Already, so much good has come out of this. Their Christ like response to this has touched many lives as evidenced by FReepers responses on these threads. Their reaction is an example to us all and just maybe it can have an effect on our culture.
