Anyone else think that these IM's are fake? Its a lot easier to fake IM logs than it is to fake Air National Guard documents from the '70s...

If they were, it would be helpful for Foley to deny them.
They are real. A wrongfully accused man would protest his innocence rather than resign.

More than the IM's being fake I wonder about the real identity of the person with whom Foley thought he was corresponding. Not that him being caught in a sting, whether by the law or a political enemy, reduces by one whit what he is accused of. If he thought he was doing something wrong then he was doing wrong, regardless of who was on the other end of the messaging. Whatever or whoever is behind the story it's just too darn convenient for the Democrats for me to believe it's just coincidence that it appears right now. There's probably something to it, and details might be interesting but lurid, Foley beat feet way to quickly in seclusion!
In any event, my thoughts and prayers are with Rep. Foley and his family in this. I have a 'thing' for root beer floats made with A&W root beer and Blue Belle Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. Seriously, every week or so I get an overwhelming compulsion for this combination. I've had this compulsion most of my life and consequently I weigh a LOT more than I should. I am 65-years-old and food has been a problem for me most of my life. I have tried everything known to mankind control this compulsion, all to no effect. I can't imagine having a drive as strong as this for something that's illegal, like a sexual attraction to children. My family has a history of alcoholism and suicides. Those who have not fought the demon of compulsive behavior, it's a joke. To those who live with it, it's very real.
My prayers go to Foley and his family.

I have very strong suspicions about the authenticity of the IMs
I know you can cut & paste IM Text as well as alter them. But this point has never been made.

my thoughts exactly, why would the e-mails be benign and the IM's be explicit. Doesn't make sense.
