Now that that is out of the way I will reveal how I (and a few others) discovered Jordan Edmund was one of the former house pages that participated in sexually explicit instant messages with Rep. Mark Foley. Also I will explain to you why I believe it necessary to reveal Jordan Edmund's identity. You may not agree with my decision, but I hope to explain my reasoning by the end of this story.

I agree. I feel very bad about a young page being enticed by an elected official. Foley is gone. That's good! But as you are growing up, one lesson to be learned is --- how best to handle something like this. As Nancy Reagan said about something else --- JUST SAY NO!

okay, sorry for not posting quite as much, and thus having a few comments, some of which date aways back in the thread...
-i proposed the civil unions for all in my Gov class, and was told by my gov teacher (imagine the anti-weitzel here, btw...) that this was absurd b/c it changed the majority to suit the minority... my view: you cant have you cake and eat it too... either have the word "marriage" be sacramental or legal, sorry it can't be both...
-the gay woman rep from wisconsin is tammy baldwin if im not mistaken... also, im assuming that MNRepub knew this, but there were rumors going around about Foley last year as well... then again, Ive heard in legend of Barney Frank (who definitely makes my favorite politicians list, btw) holding up a list, McCarthy-style, of prominent closeted gay repubs, so you never know... on second thought, this is prolly very dnagerous territory to head into, specutlating on sexual prefeences of memebers of congress.... 8O

Drudge's headline says the accusing page is now 21! Even if the instant messages are from 2003, he could've been 18 at the time!
ABC/Brian Ross outed the kid by carelessly leaving an unredacted version of the log web-accessible (these content management systems can be a bit complex for the journalistic mind, don't you know, kinda like the nuances of blacking something out in PDF, but much more basic).
The big mystery is who gave the logs to Ross. The fact that the kid is Republic campaign staffer (Ernest Istook, running for OK governor) makes it seem unlikely he's the one. So, who did leak them, and how did they get them?
