No, i have no problem with what he said. My problem is all these baby boomers who didnt plan for retirement and are goin to screw my generation over by demanding we pay for theirs.
We need to find a way to phase things our gracefully, so that we don't get screwed too bad and you don't get screwed too bad. The problem is that those things were publicly financed instead of private.
I understand your self-interest, but I'm sure you don't want to cut out medicare and have your parents wind up in the poor house because of unexpected medical bills wiping out their savings. After all, when they paid their taxes for that, they thought it was like insurance.
What do you suggest?
"My problem is all these baby boomers who didnt plan for retirement and are goin to screw my generation over by demanding we pay for theirs."
Why don't you PROVE that baby boomers "didn't plan for retirement" to a greater extent than other generations?
Baby boomers, who have paid for earlier generations' retirements all their working lives, don't whine like you do.
May I amend your statement?
No, I have no problem with what he said. My problem is all these baby boomers who didn't plan for retirement and are goin to screw my generation, AND THE BABY BOOMERS WHO DID PLAN FOR RETIREMENT, over by demanding we pay for theirs.
who didn't plan for retirement ? my retirement plan is exactly what you said...and I planned it.
we paid for the last generation,it's just your turn.
I'm 60, husband almost 63 and we hope to work at what we're doing (self-employed) until we drop. We ought to be able to draw Social Security and work, too, but if we can still make as much money working on the flexible schedule we have now, we will forego SS if at all possible. So, you can have what we've paid in. The rocking chair doesn't appeal to us. Most of the people we work with aren't interested in the rocking chair either and have already made plenty without SS. Our wants and needs are fairly simple. . but you should count it all joy to take care of us old geezers you know. I suppose you're one of the Gen X'er ME ME ME bunch. Sigh. . . How we Boomers (The Second Greatest Generation) have sacrificed!! Oh! The humanity of it . . . {{sob}} . .
Here, let me help....

eesh. Try and think outside of the box.
In the meantime, let's look at some other generalizations:
All Americans are stupid.
All Christians are uneducated.
All Catholics are child molesters.
Isn't this fun? I just love painting with a broad brush.
Frig you ! I planned for retirement AND if I was able to invest in other areas( stock market etc .) instead of the socialistic SS system by having my wages ATTACHED by the government, I would be way better off. I want every damned penny the government stole from me in the last 40 years .
