you may not care - but let's face it, alot of conservatives cannot separate opposition to the gay political agenda (marriage, adoption, school curriculum, etc), from simply "not liking" gays. The left knows this is a button they can push, and hopes conservatives will be asking for some kind of "gay purge" of the party.

At the very least it's gonna be interesting...

It will not work because when they outed Cheney's daughter on television to viewers that were not aware she was gay before the 2004 election, it back fired. Most people do not like cheap dirty tricks like this. This will come back to haunt the donks.

I am sure that all the gay congressme are rather known to be gays in their districts and that is what matter at the ned. Their voters knew they were gays and re-elected them. I do not think another district conservative base will not vote for their straight Republican congressman because of this.

Some conservatives might think the way you say...but most, in my opinion, have no overt fear or loathing of gays. We'll see.

If we're all dead gayness won't really matter, now will it? That's why we need to keep our wits about us and realize the only play the liberals have is to divert attention from their inability to fight the war on terror. Throwing Hastert over the side will do little to keep our country safe. It will simply give the Democrats the opportunity to say, "Yay, we won one."
