And since pictures are permitted, can't the ceremony be televised? Pictures of the building and furniture, etc, are permitted. Pictures or recordings of people and ceremonies inside the temple are not.

There's a reason for "leave and cleave" in the Bible, and "for better, for worse" in the marriage vows.

That could well be. I was simply pondering a possible motive.
This reminds me of an interview with the late Carrol O'Connor who said that parents should come between their child and anyone trying to harm him no matter what the age. Of course, he had a legitimate cause regarding his son. Here I don't know.

Thats strange. Are Mormons and LDS the same? I have seen a televised tour of the Mormon Tabernacle, where they dropped a pin and you could hear it everywhere in the building, and also discussed how all but a couple of the pipes visible on the pipe organ were fake. There was also footage of the Choir singing. Is the Mormon Tabernacle not the same as a temple?

This can't be true; and it isn't
The work can only be done for ancestors WAY back - and even then, is only as an offering, as it were.
As Mormons, (Latter Day Saints) believe in Jesus and that everyone continues to live after 'death' = they believe that those ancestors who have passed over - still retain God's greatest gift, Free Will, and they can then accept or reject the offering...

"If they got married in the Temple - as the story says - they are both LDS"
Does that mean her parents must to be members too? Is she not allowed to join unless her parents are also LDS?
BTW you are both very condescending towards people who don't know everything about Mormons. Whats that about? I hadn't realized Mormons were the center of the universe and everyone was required to study up on them.

I don't think that's true. I've been asking questions and getting answers.

Check the wedding date and the due date. The were married before she was preggers, but I doubt if they used birth control on the honeymoon.

No, it's not. The Tabernacle is, as you have learned, open to the public for tours and attendance at various meetings. The newly constructed conference center is the same way.
Temples, on the other hand, are dedicated for use by faithful LDS members only.

See posts 18 and 19, specifically:
"(thinking to self: Egad. what a lot of ignorance there still is about the Mormon Church.)" and
"Lots of ignorance about the Mormon church out there. Reminds me of the total ignorance about the Church of Christ ..."

And I agreed with that; I asked my questions based on rumors I'd heard but no real knowledge. Perhaps you were insulted because you equated "ignorance" with "stupidity", and they are not synonymous.

My daddy didn't think my hubby was good enough for me either in the beginning. Now he thinks I'm not good enough for hubby, LOL. Both my parents think he is the cat's meow.

Drive south where the polygamous sects dwell? Polygamy, definitely! Gee, what a lot of ignorance there still is about polygamy!

"Perhaps you were insulted because you equated "ignorance" with "stupidity",
I know the difference, and I wasn't insulted, just surprised that anyone would say "Egad. what a lot of ignorance there still is about the Mormon Church." as if the Mormon Church was the center of the universe and so it's laws and practices should be common knowledge. I found the contempt to be unwarranted.
