He plainly supported the authority of the law and the prophets, yet he plainly refused to honour the mitzvot or the sages in practice, and commanded his followers--tax collectors, i.e. Roman quislings and oppressors of the Jews among them--to do the same. He seemed particularly hostile to Shabbot, the most sacred of Jewish observances. Not to mention his hostility to the temple services.
Still hostile to the "Son of David"?

Actually he was the perfect Jew because he fulfilled the Jewish scriptures. The Jews (for the most part) didn't accept this because Jesus was not their idea of what a Messiah should be. On the other hand, many Jews did accept and became the early Christians.
