The rats play us like fiddles all the time. Our guys constantly get blindsided by the rats because they aren't dishonorable enough and politically desperate enough to pull the things the rats do. That part is okay - that we don't do the underhanded things they do - but it is just plain stupid to not see these things coming and head them off before they can grow legs. Republicans are dim-witted, politically inastute, and slow on their feet.

That's my point. We don't have to ACT like them to predict and be on the lookout for their dirty tricks so this sort of thing doesn't damage us.
