They would strip the public square of religion, faith and God, to establish the secular state over the dreaded theocracy. They fail to recognize that the flip side of a theocracy is religious liberty.
As Samuel Johnson wrote: To think reasonably is to think morally. When people lose any interest in doing the latter, they lose any interest in doing the former as well.
