Gay Groups Distancing Themselves from 'Moderate' Republican and Former Champ

By John Henry Westen

WASHINGTON October 2, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com)-Mark Foley, the former Congressman from Florida, resigned in disgrace Friday after ABC News revealed sexually explicit emails and text messages from Foley to teenage boys working as pages. Foley was endorsed by both the 'pro-gay' Log Cabin Republicans and the 'pro-choice' Republican Majority for Choice.

But since the allegations of sexual impropriety homosexual groups have been attempting to disassociate themselves from Foley. One group has gone so far as to claim he was opposed to gay rights, even though his voting record shows him unwilling to ban homosexual 'marriage' or even homosexual adoption,

The Log Cabin Republicans, a pro-homosexual activist group within the Republican Party, has removed Foley from their lists of endorsements for 2006. Last week, the Log Cabin webpage endorsed Foley saying, "He has consistently voted against the anti-family marriage amendment, and has supported the hate crimes bill, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)..." (See the current Log Cabin page without Foley and the Google Cache of the page with Foley:

The Belleville News-Democrat leads a story entitled "Gay community analyzes Mark Foley's resignation" with homosexual activist Michael Rogers claiming that Foley was a "homophobe" and anti-gay." (http://www.belleville.com/mid/belleville/news/local/15653544..)

The contention is contradicted by the actions of the political gay activist group Human Rights Campaign (HRC) which rated Foley in 2003-2004 at 88% on side with them and in 2002 the HRC PAC gave him a campaign contribution of $10,000. (http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.asp?cid=N0000...)

On abortion, Foley is a member of Republican Majority for Choice. While he voted in favour of the ban on partial-birth abortion he did not support efforts to ban family planning funds abroad, and also voted to support embryonic stem cell research. Contributions records from Republican Majority for Choice to Foley's campaign can be here:

I mentioned before that Foley was on my "Gaydar" years ago.

This info helps to reinforce which side of gay rights Foley was on and suggests the direction of his personal life.

Notice how the gay activists and Log Cabin's are running away from him for political reasons and because he exposes them all with the pedophile association.

What made you suspect he was light in the loafers? Support for gays and/or something about his "manner"?

A good reason to continue the process of purging RINOs from the ranks of the elected.

If anyone is still wondering, Foley is definitely gay. It was an open secret in Florida. He had a boyfriend, was seen at gay bars .... but he always refused to publicly confirm it.

Heh, heh. You can run but you can't hide. We know who you are and what you stand for.

He did a cable news interview some years ago discussing teenage nudist summer camps.

His comments about his "naturist" friends caught my attention.

But frankly I've surfed and thought his name came up somewhere out there as being gay.

He was talked about as a Senate candidate and dropped it and that caught my eye.

AP is talking about all the extra campaign money he threw around including 8-thousand dollars to Congresswoman Heather Wilson (R-New Mexico).

I'll stop my comments there.

He's toasted now with the

Thanks for the info. I wonder what in the heck he was talking about teenage nudist camps--what guise was he using? Supposed to be concerned? What a disgusting man! If he wanted to act like that, he should have switched to the Dem party. They would have loved him then and he would still have his job.

But what if they help hold the majority? /sarcasm

You and I have been saying this for years. The damage that the RINOs do outweighs any other possible benefit they might bring to the table.

Just wondering why most gays are pro-choice on abortion rights. could it be one type of sickness leads those affected to support another type.

Yes. Heather Wilson is his type of Republican. You'll notice that Duncan Hunter didn't get any money from Tom.

Which makes me wonder how much filth the Dems have under their carpets. "Page-gate" will NOT be limited to one party, most assuredly.

Lets See Some Talk About Democratic Candidates Non-Vote on Pedophilia Study Vote In Congress

http://bama.ua.edu/~sprentic/607%20Garrison%20&%20Kobor-2002.htm

Members of Congress have keen radar for what their constituents will understand and accept. They do not take off their “everyman hats” when they read a scientific article about child sexual abuse. They also knew that a vote against H. Con. Res. 107 (1999) would be viewed by their colleagues and constituents as a vote for normalizing pedophilia. The odds were overwhelming that the resolution would pass.

On July 12, 1999, the resolution passed 355 to 0 in the House, with 13 members voting “present,” and it passed by voice vote two weeks later in the Senate. No member of Congress voted against the resolution. The commentary of Representative Brian Baird (D) of Washington (Baird, 2002, this issue), psychologist and APA member, details the price he paid and the reasons for his vote of “present.”

Although all of the 13 House members who voted “present” were reelected in 2000, a significant number of them (including Representative Ted Strickland [D] of Ohio, the other APA member in Congress) suffered conservative grassroots and media attacks similar to those described by Representative Baird.

The news today on both sides of the aisle seems to be specially designed to deliver the facts needed to support the appropriate agenda. All this spinning is making me sick to my stomach.
