I noticed that line too. We are still being blamed in America so I don't doubt it will be an infinite blame game in SA too.

Through a relative I met a woman from South Africa. I haven't talked to her much but she says the crime in South Africa is horrible. She seems very happy to be over here, but I'm sure she misses her family over there. She has South African friends all over--Europe and Australia. I can't blame them for getting out.

I can't recall the name of the post because it was several years ago now, but some FReeper posted a link to some of the most horrific pictures of killings in Africa. Some of it was black on white. Even children and babies. Very distrubing. Al Qaeda almost has a monopoly on barbarism but not quite.

Yes they are. We hire white South Africans and have to go through a lot of paperwork to get them over here for 9 months. They have to go back for three months and then we try to get them back. However the greatest impediment are our consulates in S.A.. After about three years they won't allow them to come back. Our government is afraid they will stay here. They are good workers, speak english and are intelligent. They say it is getting worse back in S.A.

Or the Chinese. They would love to get their hands on the natural resources and space.

Bingo! The Chinese will come in to Africa in a serious way in the next two decades and pick up all the pieces. In fifty years, Africa will be, for all practical purposes, a Chinese colony.

I have heard that Chili and Israel are are both fairly easy to emigrate to for S. Africans and Eastern Europeans. Of course Israel may be even worse than SA in terms of violence and safety, but Chili is pretty nice.

I know a family who left SA -- not exactly for the reasons listed here, it just turned out that a job led them to the US.

However, the mom said that "Affirmative Action" is precisely why they will never go back. She said it's really something to deal with a bank managed by somebody without an education, but whose skin happens to be the right color.

I have heard of a similar deal in which a farmer bought lots and lots of brand new farm equipment from a dealer in America, but then told the dealer to hang onto it instead of shipping it to SA. When the family arrived in the US, they sold off the farm equipment in order to recoup their money. I think they were successful for the most part. They only lost a little money instead of everything.

Will it be called Apartied when the chinese own all of the industries and employ private police forces? Will the world care when the yellow nibbles up the black? I guess...not. The EU will be beset by muslims by then. And we...I don't quite know, but I do know our libs won't give a fig what goes on in Africa by then.

SA had a vibrant Jewish community at one time...but they left, the brain drain started many years ago.

I am one of those white South Africans who left, six years ago, and for the reasons mentioned. Getting prevented from reaching the top in big companies despite being well-qualified, and getting shot at in our own home is no way to raise my children. I hope they were young enough when we arrived in the USA so that they will see themselves as Americans.
