If I was negotiating, I would say to Hamas, release Shalit now! And if he is not returned, take 10 of their most top-level prisoners and execute them. Send the decapitated heads to Hamas.
Repeat the process until Shalit is returned.
If Shalit is murdered, execute all of the prisoners demanded by Hamas.
