Lord place Your Divine healing hand on these dear children and restore them to wholeness, we plead! In Your Son's precious Name, we pray.....
She called him first, as any wife would. The cops were already there when she called him. She obviously notified the cops at some point, or they wouldn't have had the info from her for the press release.
He brought 2x4's and 2x6's to barricade the doors. He piled desks in front of the doors.
The boys were told to leave. He TIED the girls using either wire ties or flexcuffs and lined them up in front of the blackboard.
He then executed them!
Dear Lord, have mercy.
I'm just curious about the amount of time between when she found the notes and when she talked to her husband.
An event from 20 years ago, when he was 12, is not an excuse, reason, or anything else for this horrible man's actions. I grew up in a highly dysfunctional family and none of what my brother did in his adult years was justified by events from our childhood. We both grew up in the same circumstances and we both had to make our own choices. He chose not to change. I took the path less traveled by my family and that has made all the difference.
As of last month his choices brought him to meet his maker at the end of a cops' gun.
The only one responsible for the horrors he brought to the people in this life is himself.
This scumbag from todays events is no better.
I wasn't aware there was any delay. It's my understanding that she found the notes, read them, and immediately called him. I can't think of any reason she would wait.
Well I should hope so. This body is just temporary.
We're removing side issues and posts which otherwise criticize and blame the victims including the Amish community as a whole.
Sorry, I didn't see that post. My observations are coming from frustration, anger, deep sorrow, and despair at knowing there is such evil abroad in the land.
I know that some families in Nickel Mines have suffered multiple losses today.
God be with all of these good and gentle people, and may the Holy Spirit inspire their leaders with wisdom to protect and defend their communities in these troubled modern times.

I know of someone's kid whose been off their medication for a while, they act crazy and paranoid. It worries me alot. So, please do not try and interpret my intentions. Sorry, I cannot fathom this. It's hard for any normal person to comprehend a crime directed towards innocent children or anybody at that.
I'm sorry to hear that EBH.
OK. I was not in any way blaming the victims.
Just bewildered, like everyone else at this point.
That jibes with my limited understanding of the Amish approach to technology. Land in PA is expensive, and Amish communities aren't able to support themselves entirely by farming any more; so as they venture into other areas of business, they have to make concessions to enter into commerce with the English.
It's not too dissimilar to Orthodox Jews. There's an orthodox temple near my house, and on Saturdays I see a large number of people on the sidewalk making their way to services. The small parking lot at the temple is also full. Parishioners who are elderly, or handicapped, or who otherwise can't or shouldn't walk to temple aren't viewed any less favorably than the folks who can and do walk.
The key point is that most "plain folk" -- Amish, Mennonites, Orthodox Jews, and like-minded communities -- don't have a doctrinaire opposition to technology. What they oppose is selfishness, isolation, luxury and vanity. It's not a world-view I share, but it's well thought out, constantly re-examined, and worthy of respect.
The technologies that we use in our daily lives as a matter of convenience, they would accept, but only as a matter of necessity. For example, in today's school shooting, I would guess that evacuating the wounded children by ambulance and helicopter will not raise a whisper of protest.
I agree, and even if in his deranged mind, "something/anything" happened 20 years ago...NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING could even remotely be used to justify this slaughter in anything except the mind of a person who has embraced the darkest of evil with his whole being.
Okay, thanks.
Amen
