Either way, I agree with Tammy Bruce, we should seal off our northern border, we have been to complacent, and our neighbors have been 'do-nothings', for far too long !
At the very least this incident, as well as many others, in trends going back to the Cold War, prove that Canada is unreliable on issues of Border Safety and Security .
Canadians think 'The World is Their Oyster' .
These Liberals only real concern is 'acid rain' or some other politically-correct non-threat .
B.C. border guards?
Figured they'd be french Canadian guards that fled.
Not those with us in the WOT in Afghanistan. A border guard help stop the millenium bombers, so they'ver partnered with us before in HS. Also, thought the new PM was friendly to the US.
"...in the event there was a security threat..."
In the event? Aren't they armed? WTF?
What, again? Didn't this same thing happen a few months ago? Or is this the same story?
Didn't Canada pass a law saying their guards can be armed? I can't remember but I know there was a discussion about it earlier this year.
Don't blame the guards, blame the policy.
Well Ramses, I think you are talking about that Muslim Plot to bomb the Canadian Parliment .
Run away!!!
No, Marc Anthony, I'm referring to (another?) instance where the Canadian border guards (!) fled upon hearing that a wanted American criminal might be trying to cross the border.
They are both at fault . .
Yes, the Vancouver/Washington Border is especially wide open to illegal immigration, , to the U.S.
I liked 'Life Of Brian' better .
Guards walk off job at four B.C. border crossings
which is it? did they flee or walk off the job? Are union workers who walk off the job called "fleeing" as well by the media?
It happened a couple months ago, but it occurred again last weekend. Took some friends from church about four hours to get back into Canada. Ridiculous situation!
Someone else posted about that incident .
Crimanals who have committed a Capitol Offense here in The States, have fled up to Canada in the past ~
remember Charles Ng ?
He, along with Leonard Lake, are responsible for 25 murders of men, women, and one infant, way up in Calaveras County back in the mid 1980's .
Lake committed suicide to avoid capture ~
Charles Ng high-tailed it up to Canada . .
