We need to remind the Dems of the horrible aftermath of Vietnam every chance we get.

This is why I've come to the conclusion that we've been wrong to deny the allegations that "this is another Vietnam."  Instead of denying it we should take up that charge, but explain what it really means.

We won, militarily, in Vietnam.  Every analysis admits that.  But then we were betrayed by the international left who conspired to spread propaganda, including unending lies, to destroy our will to fight.  And the free people of South Vietnam and the enslaved people of North Vietnam were betrayed and murdered in the millions by these same people.  And further millions were killed in surrounding countries as the leftists marched on, slaughtering as they went, in the name of their movement.

John Kerry, Hanoi Jane, Walter Cronkite and all the rest have blood on their hands that puts them in the class of murderers on historic scales.  Murtha, Sheehan, Rather, Alter, Moore, Carter and the new crop are seeking to do the same thing in the middle east because they hate us and see us as the real enemy.  This is a war, pure and simple, and they have decided that they will ally themselves with anyone to defeat us, no matter who or what they are.  We must treat them accordingly.

Someone, somewhere, is going to work out their logic like this:

The left has proven that if you only kill enough people then you're not a murderer, your a freedom fighter in a movement, therefore they must start killing the leftists in the same way the leftists allies are killing us.

They will then apply that logic... in spades.  The bloodbath will be awful.  It may happen sooner rather than later.  It will happen, within minutes, if we are hit with WMD, or some other horror attack.  How many mosques will burn if the Vatican is destroyed and the Pope killed?  How many "reporters" will be left hanging from lamp posts?  How many "peace activists" will be rounded up and left in piles with bullet riddled bodies ala Mussolini or Ceausescu?

I am not advocating this course of action.  I am stating that, given the left's logic, their rhetoric and their actions, it is nearly inevitable that it will be turned back on them.

After the invasion and rape of Poland by Germany and Russia the UK went into a period they later called "the phony war."  Regardless of how real you think the current state of war is, it's not real war, at least not to us, in our society.  Something is going to happen, a nuke or an assassination or some atrocity, but this relatively peaceful period will end and the west will finally wake up and realize that we are in a fight for survival, period, end of discussion.  And then we will wage war with all the fury and power at our disposal.  And the bill for that in terms of human carnage and loss will be incalculable.

I believe that George W. Bush's policies have been directed at avoiding that true, all out war, at almost any cost, particularly to himself.  It truly has been a noble effort, but I think that he's failed.  Time is running out.  We will not go gentle into that good night.  A civlization must not only rage against the dying of the light, it must fight and succeed in preserving that light.  We've done it before, all too many times.  We will do it again.

But John Kerry, Hanoi Jane, Walter Cronkite, Murtha, Sheehan, Rather, Alter, Moore, Carter and their allies will be among the first stood up against the wall.

Powerful analysis Phsstpok, and I believe it is accurate. If this nation were to be hit with a biological that killed 20% of the nation, overnite, the internal and external enemies would be identified and dealt with. GWB has indeed been trying to avoid such an outcome, but our good fortune cannot last.

The #1 Al Queda in Iraq just invited terrorists to come to Iraq and try out there WMD on American troops there. It is only a matter of time until the Muslims provoke their version of Ragnarok.

It is a horrible mistake for them and their supporters. The death and destruction that the United States and it's citizens can rain down on them is unprecedented in world history.

All that is required to unleash that incredible power is the right blasting cap. Some talking heads and politicos are going to be horribly surprised at how quickly an ivory tower can crumble.

Exactly. Wondertwins powers activate. I am always glad to see them make the analogy... so you can see the exact same crap from Kerry, Murtha, Kennedy and the rest. Then I would ask how the pull out and slaughter after made us look in the eyes of 'the world'.

Especially the slaughter after we left Vietnam. Not to mention in Bosnia and Africa till today... did they not hear OBL and Al (mark of the beast), Zarahiri say that us leaving showed the weakness of the US and spurred them on to greater satanic terror?

Excellent analysis and spot on.

I fear we are heading for an all out war with Islam. There will be much carnage.

I don't believe that an assassinated Pope or WMD's on troops would be enough for the politicians to act, though. When the Moslems strike an American city with a WMD, then they will see the light.
