The governor takes a commanding lead, with many Democrats and independents saying they support him. A key issue is leadership skill.
Just over five weeks before election day, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger holds a commanding lead over his Democratic challenger, state Treasurer Phil Angelides, who has built scant support beyond a core base of liberals, according to a new Los Angeles Times Poll.
If the Nov. 7 election were held today, likely voters would favor the Republican governor over Angelides 50% to 33%.
The survey found an abundance of grim signs for Angelides, including a failure to match Schwarzenegger's success in rallying voters of his own party strongly behind his candidacy. Just 61% of Democrats support Angelides, while 88% of Republicans favor Schwarzenegger. And independents, a crucial swing vote, support Schwarzenegger over Angelides 49% to 31%.

Go Arnold!

If you look at those races, some of them are within striking distance for Republicans, people need to turn out and get out the vote.
Lieutenant governor Garamendi (D) v. McClintock (R) 41% to 42%
Secretary of State Bowen (D) v. McPherson (R) 35% to 33%
Ins Commissioner Bustamante (D) v. Poizner (R) 43% to 38%
State controller Chiang (D) v. Strickland (R) 36% to 30%

This is gonna be hilarious. A year ago, he was dead meat, and now the only question is: Is he going to win by a comfortable 8-10pts, or is it going to be a 20pt landslide?

The laws that count are the ones he's approved and they are liberal or worse. From bloated budgets, to UHC, to homosexual rights, to land grabs, to significant increases in taxation to staggering increases in debt
Universal Health Care, promoting the homosexual agenda in public schools to name a few.
It might help to follow currents before offering an opinion. Schwarzenegger has approved both universal health care plans and the homosexual agenda this past year. UHC this past week.
They would get elected if you TRIED instead of engaging in self-fulfilling prophecies.
Great news, indeed.
It can only help the downticket Republican candidates.

But Angelides will be very happy if conservatives stay home or vote third party and help Angelides.

I don't mind your Dem-promoting OPINIONS, but your constant spreading of outright LIES, making FALSE STATEMENTS that you KNOW are FALSE and try to pass them off as FACTS, is getting to be tiresome.
Arnold VETOED the universal healthcare socialized medicine bill and also VETOED several bills that the Legislature approved to promote the homosexual agenda even in schools, yet you claim the opposite, stating your lies as facts.
I don't know where you are getting your information.
He vetoed the UHC bill. He vetoed the bill advocating the homosexual agenda in textbooks. Yesterday, he vetoed the bill by Cedillo that would have granted driver's licenses to illegals.
What, exactly, are you talking about?
So would Garamendi, who's trying his darnedest to drive a wedge between Tom McClintock and Arnold.
