The process already exists, it's called Amending the Constitution. I concur with uptoolate, we cannot abandon the Republic to the tyranny of a democracy, even if that is two branches against one.

Remember, too , that the court has changed and while great weight is given to past decisions, many have been overturned by a new ruling.

Agreed. The 4-6 year re-election of Congress and the Presidency is there to reflect the "National Will" of the people. The lifelong appointment of the SCOTUS is to protect the people from short term misguidedness of the "National Will" of the people.

The founding fathers new exactly what they were doing. Impeachment of judges is Congress' way to override a corrupt judiciary.

In light of some of the corrupt decisions out of the courts, all I can say is 1) It took a long slow time to get to this point, 2) Congress has not been using the tools of the Constitution correctly.

Incorrect. The Supreme Court is capable of violating the Constitution, as I mention in Post #26. Those cases call for nullification by the other branches. The SCOTUS is NOT the highest authority. There are co-equal branches. Yet the liberals have convinced most Americans, and sadly many Conservatives too, that the SCOTUS is the last word. It is not. The judiciary is capable of tyranny as well, and the other two branches are the only check there is. uptoolate's example of 7-year old sex is ridiculous. If our culture ever got to that point, then the U.S. as we know it would have long since ceased to exist as a light to the nations. We have to deal with real examples, and there are plenty.

How would Congress utilizing it's constitutional authority to limit the jurisdiction of the court be "abandoning the Republic to the tyranny of a democracy"? That would be representational government.

The true story is that we have already abandoned the Republic to the tyranny of an oligarchy.
