If Pubs are a 'disgrace' to the conservative movement, then 'dems' and 'liberals' alike are a plague and poison both to the conservative movement.

A Republican that compromises for various conservative principles is a practicing conservative. A true conservative would generally vote NO to every new law.

A Conservative that demands immediate revolution on all fronts to pure libertarian ideals is a "liberal" in the classic definition, if you want to be picky.

Classical liberalism is a political philosophy that supports individual rights as pre-existing the state, a government that exists to protect those moral rights, ensured by a constitution that protects individual autonomy from other individuals and governmental power, private property, and a laissez-faire economic policy.
