But where is the clause that specifically authorizes the funding???

Not too bright, are you.

Article One, Section Eight:

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States;

Do yourself a favor. Do a Google search for the US Constitution. Print out a copy. Then go find a grown up to help you read it.

LOL! The same clause was used in the NASA thread, and you said "the common defense" did not apply to the space race with the Russians who were trying to dominate outer space as well as the world! So your position is that "the common defense" had nothing to do with keeping pace with the Soviets on space technology, but it does apply to keeping out Mexicans looking for work?

You cry and whine about how the Constitution does not explicitly give Congress the power to provide funding for NASA. Now you stretch and twist the Constitution to support funding for a border fence.

Hilarious. Now try to justify this position by stating how the Mexicans are out to destroy America, and that the fence will protect us from "invasion". Dance, monkey, dance.

Wow, there must be some hidden polling data out there, cause I keep hearing/reading that this is one of the last things on peoples minds.

It's the one question that comes up over and over when you knock on people's doors with candidate literature.
