"The field of Jihad.."
Now that's just too funny right there. I have a Masters in Physics and I am hoping to explore an opportunity in the field, of say, Jihad.

I suggest the use of 'field' in this translation has been used as in the English phrase 'field of battle'. So, field of jihad means field of holy battle. It's not a field of study but a place to make war.
