if the crash didn't kill them, then there are the anacondas...
per Fox just now there were no survivors
This accident is getting stranger and stranger. Occam's Razor would say that there was a mid-air between the Legacy and the 737, if the planes were in the same area and the Legacy had to make an emergency landing shortly after the 737 crashed. But for the smaller plane to survive a collision and the larger one (by a factor of three) to not, is very odd. Not impossible, but odd.
The Legacy getting hit by debris from sort of explosion onboard the 737 would be almost impossible. That's hitting a bullet with a bullet; normal rules for separation are 1,000 feet vertically and (I think) three miles laterally.

Ok, on a serious note, I hope the report of some survivors is accurate. This is a horrible tragedy.
With the varying reports, I wonder if the 2nd plane was hit by debris from the other when it exploded?
OK.
don't get upset..it's the Rovian weather/gas/diebold machine that's been programmed and is in operation..they need to work on the "Bush's fault" add-on..:)
I heard there wasn't a mid-air collision.
Per Airliners.net
"NYT reporter and columnist Joe Sharkey was one of the passangers onboard the Legacy." (the smaller plane)

Foz do Iguacu, Brazil is one of three towns which comprise the tri-border area, the largest terrorist hub in the western hemisphere. Imad Mugniyah, Hezbollah's international operations chief, is believed to be based in the area.
We usually need a lot less to declare definatively that it is
(Please press 1 for President Bush, please press 2 for Vice President Cheny, please press 3 for Secretary Rice, please press 4 for Secretary Rumsfeld, please press 5 for "the military", please press 6 for "the jack booted thugs", please press 7 for Spanish choices and a complete cerebral hemorrhage.)
fault.
Sounds like no one survived the crash. Prayers to the families of those on board.
I guess anything can and will happen.(Murphy's Law)
TANKS,,,I could not remember the name or place,,,,
correct me if I am wrong, but aren't planes flyign north, or east suppose to be at an even altitude (32,000 28,000) and planes flying west or south at an odd altitude? I could have the even and odd mixed up.
Yeah, it's the other way around. Aircraft flying on headings of 000-179 degrees should be at odd altitudes and those on headings of 180-359 degrees should be at even.
According to the people posting over on those airliners.net threads, the captain of the Legacy reported that he saw a "shadow" over his aircraft and then there was a "hard bump." The conjecture on some Brazilian TV was that the 737 was descending and one of the Legacy's wings ripped into the 737's belly and damaged the plane enough to cause it to go out of control. But at that point, that's sheer guesswork, and will be until investigators can go over the Legacy and over the 737's wreckage, and pull out the cockpit voice and flight data recorders from both aircraft.

Gol's a hot stock because it's a good company. Bad news all around.
'Foz do Iguacu'
Unbelievably beautiful waterfalls are there. Big tourist spot.
My understanding is that most of activity is happening on the Paraguay side. But the border is completely unprotected, so terrorists can and do move freely between the three countries.
