Well, based on what has been revealed thus far, and presuming nothing further for the sake of argument, then I would agree with you. Foley's career and reputation have properly come crashing down into oblivion, so unless there's more than the contemptible IMs that have been linked I'd also say that's punishment enough.

However, if a law has been violated, and particularly if it's a law sponsored or endorsed by Foley, then he should be prosecuted to the full extent.

Yep. If you talk the talk then walk the walk. Anything less is rank hypocrisy.

Definitely, but does closetedness foster this kind of rather pathetic activity? I mean, why doesn't this guy just hit the gay bars or something? Even odder, is that I think most voters assumed he was gay. So why didn't he just do a Kolbe? Is it Catholicism or what?
