That's easy for you to say as a private citizen. The intelligent thing for someone in the Republican politician position is to wait for the facts. It would have been entirely inappropriate to do anything but wish him well until the facts are known.

'And that goes back to us rushing to judge the situation. Do you even know what the well-wisher knew about the situation when he wished him well? OF course not. None of us do. It's amazing how some people are able to read minds here.

If I was accused of being a pedophile....and it was not true, I would be on every talk show shouting my innocence from the rooftops and looking for someone to sue !

This isn't skimming some money from the campaign chest scandal....this reaches down to the very fiber of being. And you defend that to the death.

"According to Nightline, they've know for quite a while; they had a guy on who use to be a page and he said that when they first came in to training, they were WARNED about Foley."

Did you see the above? Sounds like the suits in DC are covering for their own insider club. Peons have to follow the rules, they just scratch each others' backs. Obviously not all, but enough so that DC is really stinking right now. If it turns out that Republican Congressmen knew about Foley's penchant for teenage boys and did nothing except "warn" pages about him, they should all quit tomorrow.
