This is driving me nuts. There was a General in the European Command, could have been the High Commander during the 1998 - 2003 time period. The name was something like Shevassheslakii or something similar. He was of Polish, Chezh, Hungarian birth. Help! Thanks.

I believe that was John Shalikashvili, who joined the U.S. Army and became Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. I'll look it up.
